Summer Summary

I got behind on blogging this summer.  Here are a few highlights, pre- the best part of our summer, the arrival of Levin.  Above and below, hanging out while waiting for a table at Three Sisters, Fourth of July weekend.
In addition to the yummy breakfast, Adam and Addie attended a goat roast (you read correctly) where our daughter (innocent to this being a peculiar meat choice) ate more goat meat than any adult present.  When she came home, she proudly announced to me that she ate goat and cookies (apparently three or so of the latter, to boot).  I had an awful allergic reaction that struck my face (most painful and agonizing) and entire body (bummer!) and have a brief to work on (double bummer!) and so did not participate in the goat consumption.
On the actual 4th, we limited our activities (again due to my problems), but we did haul our chairs one block to Talbot Street to view the Indy fireworks from the comfort of our neighborhood.  (The neighborhood has a street party every year.)  Grammi and P-pa joined us.  Addie LOVED the fireworks and is still talking about them whenever "July" is mentioned.  The biggest meltdown of all time occurred when the fireworks ended (very much past her bedtime) and her parents were unable to get the fireworks back on.

Next, some pictures from Memorial weekend.  We traveled to Newburgh, Indiana, to attend a cousin's high school graduation party and another cousin's bridal shower.  On the way down, we stopped at our beloved Bloomington.  We went to the Farmer's Market (which amazingly has improved upon it's perfection -- by far the best FM I've been to), had brunch at Village Deli, and then walked campus with Addie.  It was her first tour of IU, and she loved it, particularly the woods (with all of its sticks and leaves) and the Showalter Fountain.  She also liked the sculpture in front of the art museum.

While in the Evansville area for Memorial Weekend, we visited with my Grandpa.  Addie enjoyed going for rides with her Great-Grandpa.

In July we attended a big sibling class at IU North, where I would have Levin.  Here's Addie in her scrubs post-class.
In addition to the above, we attended a lot of Farmer's Markets, made a lot of homemade ice cream, enjoyed planting, caring for and harvesting from our garden, and enjoyed the increasingly impressive made-from scratch meals prepared by Adam.  I am sure I am forgetting a lot (my postpartum, sleep-deprived brain is a little muddled).  It has been a fun summer!
