First Birthday Tea Party

Adam and I had tons of fun planning Addie's first birthday party - a tea party! Yesterday was the big party day. Addie enjoyed playing with her tea set in the morning, before everyone arrived.
She was a natural at figuring out how to pour the tea.

We had cupcakes made by the same woman who made our wedding cakes. They were yummy!
Grammi and Gammie helped us make a "high tea" lunch. Little sanwiches and scones served as a main course.

We got Addie to eat a cupcake later in the evening, after everyone left. She discovered that cake is good, especially the icing.

We all had a fun day and hope our guests did too. Addie turns 1 on Tuesday! We are so excited. It has been such a full and wonderful year, and we love watching her grow. Being Addie's parents is truly like getting a gift every day, as we discover more wonderful things about our sweet baby girl. She is becoming a little chatter box, learning new words every day and is cautiously taking her first steps. Every day is more fun than the last! We are so in love with our baby and the last year has been the best year of our lives (even with all of the challenges of being first time parents!!).
