Addie's First Camping Trip

Among my favorite childhood memories are camping trips with my family. I hope we will be able to do the same with Addie. We had a trial run last weekend, camping in Gammie and NoNo's backyard. We had a blast! Even if we never make it to the wilderness (although I hope we will), backyard camping is definitely a good time.

Graham crackers, anyone?
We enjoyed a fire and smores.
Addie trying her first smore.
Stargazing with Daddy. A beautiful full moon lit up the night.
Our tent!
Addie made it through the night in the tent, and slept very well. The next day, she told us throughout the day that she "slept in a tent." (However, she did have some initial confusion about the tent, referring to it as a "bounce house" and jumping away on the air mattress.)

The next morning, Ruby, Georgia, and Aaron joined us for breakfast. After the girls jumped around in the tent together (and Addie got her first bloody nose!!)... maybe it is a bounce house? ... we all went to the Zion Nature Center and Sanctuary. Addie loved looking at the butterflies with Gammie. She is a good hiker (and likes to say "hike in the woods"), and is very observant. We collected acorns, dandelions, and had a great time.
